Clinical Pharmacist Role
The clinical pharmacist will be responsible for Optimising Patient Outcomes, ensuring that medicines are used in the best possible way to achieve Quality Use of Medicines (QUM). This involves working with prescribers and patients to maximise the clinical benefits of medicines and minimise the risk of unwanted reactions.
To succeed in this role, the candidate must demonstrate Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills, work independently and as part of a team, and assign priorities to responsibilities to meet time constraints and deadlines.
About the Job
The clinical pharmacist will participate in Clinical Education Programmes, develop and maintain information technology skills, and contribute to the development of innovative pharmacy services. They will also support prescribers and patients to ensure that medicines are used safely and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Implement Clinical Pharmacy Services: Work with prescribers and patients to optimise medicine use and improve patient outcomes.
- Support Prescribers and Patients: Provide expert advice and guidance on the safe and effective use of medicines.
- Participate in Clinical Education Programmes: Develop and maintain knowledge and skills in clinical pharmacy practice.
- Contribute to Innovation: Develop and implement new ideas and services to improve patient care and outcomes.
