About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team that moves fast and prioritizes projects rapidly. As a Brand Design Director, you will have the chance to lead our team in creating culturally resonant, on-brand experiences that showcase Canva's ability to stay at the forefront of design, technology, and community.

You will be responsible for leading creative direction across experiential for both internal and external events, collaborating with cross-functional teams and agencies to deliver polished, cutting-edge designs that inspire and engage.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead creative direction across experiential for both internal and external events
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across Canva to develop immersive, memorable, and effective experiences
  • Mentor and inspire a creative team, leading a team of 2D and 3D creatives
  • Champion Canva's brand and goals, playing a key role in shaping Canva's brand experience
  • Engage with stakeholders and articulate creative decisions, building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external agency partners

Requirements

  • Extensive design and leadership experience in brand design
  • A strong portfolio showcasing diverse projects across brand, motion, and product design
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills, able to lead by example and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high-quality creative
  • Able to balance creativity and strategy, moving seamlessly between big-picture ideas and pixel-perfect craft
  • Driven to achieve excellence, with a high standard for design quality
