Job Description

This is a unique opportunity for a law graduate to join our dynamic Banking & Finance team in Sydney.


The role would suit either a recent law graduate or someone who has recently commenced their career and is looking to launch a career in private practice. As part of a graduate cohort, you will be provided with practical legal training (PLT) and the ability to attend our specialist in-house graduate training program.


You will have the chance to work on a wide range of matters, from corporate and property finance to restructuring and recapitalisations. Our teams are resourced to provide legal services across all disciplines required, seamlessly integrating advice with our commercial, insolvency, and tax teams.


The Role Requirements
  • A completed law degree with excellent academic results;
  • Strong results in banking & finance law with a genuine passion for this subject matter;
  • An ability to communicate clearly and concisely;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • An ability to understand and identify key issues in a legal matter;
  • Good judgement and common sense;
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team; and
  • A passion for a career in commercial law.

About the Team

Our Banking & Finance lawyers have extensive knowledge in managing legal and commercial risks inherent in all financial transactions. We advise major domestic and international trading and investment banks and financiers, as well as substantial private family groups, corporates, property developers, private equity, hedge and special situation funds, fund managers, institutional investors, project sponsors, and underwriters in domestic and cross-border transactions.
