Lead Video Technology Architect

The team is looking for a visionary technology leader to drive innovation in video rendering systems and pioneer AI-powered video features.

This role involves leading the technical direction for video technology, architecting scalable and high-performance rendering systems, and mentoring engineers to shape architectural standards. The ideal candidate has extensive experience building high-performance video and graphics rendering engines, deep expertise in video editing or composition, and proven skills in scalable system architecture.

  • Architecting and leading Canva's video stack, balancing performance, scalability, and user experience.
  • Designing cutting-edge rendering engines and optimizing video composition pipelines.
  • Driving performance optimization and solving complex export cost and reliability challenges.

The successful candidate will have a track record of technical leadership in video or digital content creation tooling and experience with cross-platform development and engine consolidation.
