About The Role

As Chief Technology Officer, you will spearhead Spacetalk's technology strategy, driving innovation and operational excellence in line with our mission to become a leader in family safety technology powered by predictive analytics.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will oversee all aspects of technology, engineering, and product delivery, ensuring seamless execution and high-quality solutions. You will champion agile methodologies, establish key performance dashboards, and drive the adoption of emerging technologies like AI and ML to create transformative products.

What You'll Do

  • Define and execute Spacetalk's technology roadmap, supporting the transition to a SaaS-first business model.
  • Ensure exceptional deliverables across engineering and technology teams, focusing on excellence in execution and customer outcomes.
  • Implement and champion best agile practices, fostering a collaborative and efficient product development environment.
  • Collaborate with the product team to align technology initiatives with user needs and business objectives.
  • Design and implement dashboards to track key metrics, ensuring transparency, accountability, and actionable insights.
  • Identify, evaluate, and integrate emerging technologies such as AI and ML to enhance product offerings and create predictive analytics capabilities.
  • Oversee the engineering organization, ensuring scalability, innovation, and operational excellence. Directly manage and mentor the Software Engineering Manager and any third-party partners.
  • Drive cloud architecture optimization while overseeing IT operations, including cloud platform management (AWS, Azure), DevOps processes, and vendor management, ensuring adherence to ISO and other industry standards for data security and scalability.
  • Establish and manage technology budgets, team resources, and timelines to align with strategic goals.

Estimated Salary: AU$180,000 - AU$250,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

About You

You are a seasoned technology leader with a proven track record of driving innovation and operational excellence in fast-paced environments. With deep expertise in cloud architecture, IT operations, data security, and compliance frameworks like ISO, you excel at aligning technology strategies with business goals.

You bring:

  • 10+ years in technology leadership roles, including experience in SaaS businesses, IoT, or data-driven ecosystems.
  • Proven ability to implement agile methodologies and foster alignment between engineering and product teams.
  • Demonstrated experience with AI, ML, and predictive analytics technologies, with a passion for integrating emerging technologies into innovative products.
  • Strong ability to design and deploy dashboards for tracking performance metrics and providing actionable insights.
  • Exceptional team leadership skills, with experience managing engineering teams and fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Expertise in cloud technologies, ISO compliance, and DevOps practices to ensure scalability and reliability.
