Job Description

As an Assistant in Nursing, you will be responsible for assisting nurses and hospital staff in carrying out patient care duties, assessing patients using therapeutic skills, and answering patient/visitor/customer enquiries. You will also work closely with the healthcare team to develop and implement care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist nurses or hospital staff in carrying out patient care duties
  • Work as part of the health care team; practice in accordance with state legislation and within the designated scope of practice parameters
  • Assess patients using therapeutic skills
  • Answering patient/visitor/customer enquiries
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Certificate III/IV (from an approved training provider) in Community and Health Services, Personal Carer, or equivalent. You should also have excellent ability to plan and prioritise work, highly developed verbal and written communication skills, and previous experience as an Assistant in Nursing desired.
