About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team at Active Occupational Therapy in Darwin. As an Occupational Therapist, you will work closely with mature aged individuals and those with varying disabilities to promote independence, improve daily living skills, and enhance overall quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' functional abilities, identifying areas of impairment and formulating individualised treatment plans.
- Provide hands-on therapeutic interventions and develop appropriate goals to address clients' physical, cognitive, and emotional needs.
- Collaborate with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
- Monitor clients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary, ensuring optimal outcomes.
- Educate clients, caregivers, and families on strategies to maximise independence and enhance overall well-being.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current AHPRA registration (or eligibility)
- Demonstrated experience working as an OT, preferably in a similar clinical setting.
- Sound knowledge of OT principles, techniques, and best practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport and effectively communicate with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Current Driver's Licence, Police Clearance, NDIS worker Screening, Medicare Provider registration, WWC, relevant Vaccinations (or willingness to acquire)
