We are seeking a skilled Senior Perl Software Engineer to join our team. This is a full-time position based on market rates and location, which will be discussed during the hiring process.



Job Overview

This role involves designing, developing, and implementing high-quality software applications using Perl as the primary programming language. The successful candidate will work closely with our development team to deliver robust and efficient solutions that meet our clients' needs.



Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role include:




  • Designing and developing complex software applications using Perl;
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify requirements and develop solutions;
  • Maintaining and enhancing existing software systems to ensure optimal performance;
  • Working with databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL to design and implement data-driven solutions;
  • Ensuring the security and scalability of software applications;
  • Developing and maintaining technical documentation to support knowledge sharing and onboarding;
  • Participating in code reviews to maintain high coding standards;
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to inform future development strategies.


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:




  • Advanced proficiency in Perl as a primary programming language;
  • Experience working with databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL;
  • Strong understanding of Linux operating systems and administration;
  • Good knowledge of application design, development, and implementation principles;
  • Familiarity with analytics and dashboard tools such as Hadoop and Grafana;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues;
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
