Job Title:

This role involves conducting investigations and audits to ensure compliance with revenue laws. As an entry-level position, it offers a great opportunity for individuals to begin their career in tax compliance or return to the field.

The job requires effective communication skills to provide clear advice to stakeholders, professional customer service skills, and theoretical knowledge of investigative and audit techniques.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct desktop investigations/audits using audit and investigative skills.
  • Quantify customers' tax liabilities and explain the reasons for the decisions made as part of an investigation/audit.
  • Produce accurate reports on investigation/audit findings and negotiate outcomes with customers.
  • Conduct field work on occasion.

Reporting to a Team Leader, you will have access to extensive training and one-on-one mentoring.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • The ability to interpret and apply legislation.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Professional customer service skills.
  • Theoretical knowledge and practical expertise in applying investigative and audit skills.
  • A tertiary qualification or demonstrated commitment to tertiary studies in a relevant discipline (highly desirable).
