About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for you to bring your maintenance expertise to a new cutting-edge field. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of Rolling Stock and its associated equipment based at our Sydney Light Rail Depot. The role requires participation in a rotating shift roster (4 weeks of Mon - Fri 6am - 2pm, then 4 weeks of Sun - Thurs 2pm - 10pm). Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Performing wheel changes for light rail vehicles (a very physical task)
  • Carrying out routine examinations, fault finding, interrogation, and diagnostic testing on tram equipment installed on LRV sub-systems
  • Maintaining and repairing tram equipment installed on LRVs
  • FOLLOWING ALL ESTABLISHED SAFETY PROCEDURES AND UTILISING SAFETY EQUIPMENT AS REQUIRED
  • Reporting on activities, problems found, and measures taken
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders and understanding as well as implementing quality control measures

Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • A can-do attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • The ability to participate in the rotating shift roster
  • Demonstrated maintenance experience with the ability to fault find, diagnose, and repair
  • Experience within Rail/Rolling Stock or similar industry preferred but not essential
  • Certificate III Engineering (Mechanical Trade)
