The University of the Sunshine Coast is seeking a motivated individual to support our midwifery academic programs. This role is vital for creating a safe, realistic and engaging environment for students as they develop the skills and confidence required for midwifery practice.

You will provide technical expertise and support to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and facilitate high-fidelity simulated learning for students across the disciplines of Nursing and Midwifery with a focus on Midwifery.

  • Instruct in the use of simulation equipment and clinical learning facilities and oversee the operation of the technology to ensure safe and effective use of the equipment.
  • Train and at times supervise casual team members when required.

You have strong interpersonal skills, allowing you to communicate effectively. You thrive both independently and as part of a team, using your initiative to adapt to change and new situations with confidence.

You will possess:

  • A Bachelor of Midwifery degree with experience in providing a broad range of clinical activities in support of teaching in a health-related discipline.
  • A demonstrated commitment to utilising simulation methodology in learning and its ability to transform education.
  • Ability to acquire knowledge of policies, guidelines and legislation relevant to clinical spaces and technical services including health and safety requirements and experience in performing, documenting and implementing outcomes of risk assessments.
