As a provider of private medical laboratory & pathology services, we have an expansive network of over 100 medical laboratories and 2000 patient collection centres operating across metropolitan, regional and remote Australia.
We provide 1 in every 3 pathology services in Australia, extending from exclusively servicing some of Australia's largest and most complex private and public hospitals, to small Indigenous Australian communities.
A Role as a Healthcare Specialist - Clinical Sampling
We are currently seeking a motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Healthcare Specialist - Clinical Sampling. This role involves collecting blood & coordinating specimen samples from patients, using your empathy and drive to deliver great customer service and quality healthcare.
As a Healthcare Specialist - Clinical Sampling, you will be responsible for:
- Collecting samples (blood and non-blood) with care and attention
- Keeping meticulous records for every patient and sample
- Delivering documentation within strict turnaround times
- Preparing and packaging specimens for transport and testing
- Liaising with customers, clinic staff and couriers
Your Key Responsibilities
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Cultivating strong relationships with patients and other stakeholders
- Providing exceptional customer service and responding promptly to patient inquiries
- Maintaining accurate records and reports
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and procedures
- Participating in ongoing training and professional development
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge in Phlebotomy / Certificate III in Pathology Collection or have an interest in healthcare
- Transferable skills gained in other positions within the healthcare industry highly desirable
- You have excellent customer service and communication skills, with a high level of empathy
- You are organised, with strong time management and attention to detail
- You are able to work autonomously, sometimes working independently in a solo clinic
- Hold a valid Driver's license and have flexibility to travel to multiple clinics
- Hold a working with Children's Check or be willing to obtain one
- You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident or a New Zealand citizen, or hold a valid visa with permission to work
Vaccine Requirements
Please note that vaccine preventable disease evidence such as Hepatitis B is a requirement of this role. Other vaccinations based on location may be required/set by setting.
Estimated Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum
