Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Marketing Communications Manager to lead the growth and awareness of our brand across the league, Australia events and our team.

This role reports to the Head of Marketing & Communications, APAC and is based in Sydney, Australia.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and execute strategic marketing communications plans to promote our brand and teams across the league, Australia events and our team.

- Collaborate with the Head of Marketing & Communications, APAC to create and execute locally relevant marketing communications for our brand to promote the league and team.

- Work with the Social Media Manager, APAC to develop and execute digital content plans to promote our brand and teams across the league, Australia events and our team.

- Serve as the main contact for local, national and international media with the support of a communications agency.

- Amplify all global announcements in the market.

- Manage the creation of all external communications and marketing materials relating to the local team and event.

- Ensure community communications are delivered effectively to deliver support and advocacy, whilst promoting our values.

- Oversee and manage local marketing and communications agencies and additional resources in market to meet the overall objectives.

- Manage the delivery of the promotional plan including media buying and coordinate marketing spend.

- Coordinate with our global communications, marketing and digital media teams.

- Travel to our events, serving in a press officer role for the team.

- Provide counsel to team leaders and athletes in all areas of communications.

- Collaborate with key commercial partners and stakeholders to ensure marketing and communications deliverables and objectives are achieved.

Deliverables:

- Create and deliver industry leading marketing, communication and digital strategies that will elevate brand awareness and advocacy, increase our fan base, increase broadcast viewership and digital engagement.

- Draft and maintain communications, social and content plans for the promotion of our brand and its teams and events.

- Manage and execute commercial event and team partner marketing and communications plans and deliverables.

- Serve as the main media contact and manage media interviews for athletes and team personnel.

- Prepare athletes and team personnel for media interviews via training and briefings.

- Drive year-round PR and media coverage in Australia and ensure internal KPIs are being delivered.
