About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Environmental Planner to join our team at TransGrid, working on the VNI West project. As a key member of our Environmental Approvals team, you will play a critical role in delivering planning approvals for this major transmission infrastructure project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice on planning approvals and environmental issues related to the VNI West project.
  • Conduct technical reviews of environmental assessment documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage interfaces with the VNI West project team to obtain high-quality information in a timely manner.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including customers, communities, and government entities, as required.
  • Assist the Environmental Approvals team in managing the scope and program of work for external environmental consultants and ensure timely delivery of documentation and deliverables.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in environmental planning, science, or management.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in managing and preparing complex environmental impact assessments, particularly in State Significant Infrastructure Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) in NSW.
  • Strong understanding of geographic information systems related to environmental planning and management.
  • Experience in managing contracted environmental specialist services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to self-manage, work under pressure, and collaborate in a team environment.
  • A current driver's licence.
