Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Group Finance Manager to join our team at Qantas. This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to work on complex financial reporting and accounting initiatives.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in accounting and financial reporting, with experience in a Group Finance role or a managerial position within a Big 4 or Mid-tier auditing firm. They will be responsible for providing accounting advice and research, supporting the Technical Accounting Manager, and preparing technical accounting papers.

The Group Finance Manager will also be involved in key projects, providing sound accounting judgement, estimates, and advice. They will work closely with segment finance teams and business partners to ensure timely and accurate Statutory reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide accounting advice and research to support the Technical Accounting Manager
  • Prepare technical accounting papers and be involved in key projects
  • Support the Group External Reporting Manager at half-year and year-end
  • Ensure timely and accurate Statutory reporting

Requirements:

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to deliver clear accounting and reporting advice
  • Ability to work within a team and independently to resolve complicated accounting and financial reporting issues
  • Previous experience in a Group Finance role or a managerial position within a Big 4 or Mid-tier auditing firm
  • Degree in a business-related discipline and accreditation with CA/CPA or equivalent
