Healthcare Professional Opportunity

The role of a General Practitioner is a vital component in delivering high-quality primary care services to the community.

As part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, the GP will assess, diagnose, treat, and manage a range of health conditions across all age groups, with an emphasis on continuity of care and preventative health strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing comprehensive general medical care, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
  • Promoting preventative health strategies, screening, immunisations, and health education tailored to patient needs.
  • Conducting thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations, history-taking, and ordering and interpreting relevant investigations.
  • Collaborating with allied health professionals, nursing staff, specialists, and external providers to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Maintaining accurate, timely, and confidential medical records in accordance with professional standards.
  • Participating in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and ongoing professional development.
  • Supporting the education of medical students, registrars, or interns, if applicable.
  • Upholding a commitment to culturally safe and inclusive care, especially in serving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and communities.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Unrestricted registration as a General Practitioner with relevant authorities.
  • Demonstrated experience in general practice, with strong diagnostic and clinical reasoning skills.
  • Current CPR certification and professional indemnity insurance.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient-centred approach.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, patient confidentiality, and continuous professional development.
