About the Role

The Calvary Mater Newcastle is seeking a skilled Pastoral Care Practitioner to provide compassionate support to patients and their families.

This is an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with the pastoral care team, palliative care multidisciplinary clinical and outreach teams, and various faith traditions present in the local health district.

  • Provide sensitive and skilled pastoral care to patients, families, and carers, especially in times of crisis, transition, and at the end of life.
  • Ensure information about Pastoral Care Services is provided to patients, families/carers, and staff.

About You

  • Bachelor degree with qualifications in Spirituality/Theology/Pastoral Care or willingness to undertake same.
  • Experience in hospital-based Pastoral Care.
  • Ability to articulate a mature spirituality.
  • Capacity to provide compassionate pastoral care in a diverse cultural and faith environment.
