Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated Principal Structural Engineer to join our team in Melbourne. As a key member of our structural team, you will contribute to a variety of major infrastructure projects, as well as industrial and commercial developments, while providing technical guidance in a range of structural materials for junior team members.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Becoming a technical focal point and providing guidance for the structural team in Melbourne
  • Applying engineering fundamentals to solve intermediate to advanced engineering solutions
  • Liasing with clients, design technicians, and other team members to deliver practical solutions
  • Managing clients, preparing fee proposals, and tender documentation
  • Providing technical guidance to junior team members

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of structural engineering design and must hold Engineers Australia Chartered Professional Engineer status or equivalent. Additionally, they will have strong analytical thinking skills and a problem-solving mentality, as well as exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both with colleagues and clients.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor of Civil/Structural Engineering or higher
  • Minimum 15+ years of experience in structural design
  • Deep experience in structural engineering design
  • Strong analytical thinking skills and a problem-solving mentality
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both with colleagues and clients
