About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Tenures Adviser to join our team at Santos, a leading energy company. As a key member of our EAPNG Tenures team, you will play a critical role in supporting the technical coordination and governance of tenure management, as well as administration and compliance monitoring across our Eastern Australian onshore exploration, development, and production operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and assistance during the lifecycle of activities of tenure, including planning and design, project construction and implementation, operation, abandonment, and rehabilitation.
  • Develop and implement processes for compiling technical data to justify regulatory approvals.
  • Obtain and review technical data to ensure that the information supplied meets the provisions of the resource legislation.
  • Establish and refine channels of communication and associated interface systems, notifications, and processes with key approval stakeholders – both internal and external.
  • Undertake audits for compliance obligations regarding Tenures conditions and obligations as specified in the relevant resource legislation and associated regulations.
  • Coordinate and prepare statutory applications for lodgement with Government agencies, including preparation and coordination of accompanying documentation.
  • Provide expert advice on and coordinate overlapping tenure requirements internally and externally.
About You

We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented candidate with excellent clerical and communication skills. Your prior experience within a similar role and industry is required, along with:

  • Extensive experience in a high-volume Tenures role, including compliance, monitoring, and identifying risks.
  • Guiding, mentoring, and advising teams of professionals and/or individual contributors.
  • Knowledge of petroleum legislation and relevant tenure procedures and systems.
  • Knowledge of government processes and procedures.
  • Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant work/industry experience.
