Community Engagement Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled Community Engagement Professional to join our team. This role will involve designing, delivering and evaluating community engagement initiatives that align with our strategic goals.

About the Role:

In this position, you will take the lead in creating and implementing best-practice engagement solutions. You will provide expert advice, training and facilitation to ensure all engagement is inclusive, transparent and effective.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and facilitating community engagement strategies
  • Providing subject matter expertise to influence community engagement practices
  • Supporting and implementing organisational engagement projects
  • Leading the promotion and integration of our Community Engagement Policy
  • Partnering with teams to identify and plan community engagements

The Ideal Candidate:

You will bring substantial experience in community engagement, ideally within Local Government or the Not-for-Profit sector. You will demonstrate a deep understanding of inclusive engagement techniques and possess relevant tertiary qualifications.

Essential Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in a business, strategy, project management or related discipline
  • Substantial experience in developing engagement plans and strategic documents
  • Knowledge of and ability to use the IAP2 Public Participation Spectrum and community engagement techniques

This role requires strong relationships-building skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to facilitate and administer meetings, workshops and learning activities.
