The Department of Education, Western Australia seeks a highly skilled and enthusiastic Library Officer to join their team at Newman Senior High School.
About the RoleThis is a permanent part-time (0.6 FTE) position commencing Term 4, 2024. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing and supporting the library's day-to-day operations, as well as providing reference, information, and related services to teaching staff and students.
Key Responsibilities- Developing and implementing effective library services to support student learning and academic achievement.
- Providing reference and information services to teachers and students, including recommending books and other resources.
- Managing the library collection, including ordering and cataloguing new materials.
- Collaborating with teachers to develop and implement literacy and numeracy programs.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A passion for reading and a desire to promote literacy and a love of learning among students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with teachers, students, and other school staff.
- Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using computers and a range of software packages, including databases, spreadsheets, and word processing.
The estimated annual salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
