Nurse Specialist for Surgical Services
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Perioperative Registered Nurse to join our team on a temporary part-time basis until 30 June 2025. In this role, you will provide specialised nursing care to patients during their perioperative journey, ensuring their safety and wellbeing before, during, and after surgical procedures. You will practice in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, ACORN Standards, and ANZCA Standards, undertaking nursing interventions to meet the patient's health goals. You will collaborate with the wider surgical team, participating in pre-operative assessments, assisting in the operating theatre, and providing post-operative care in recovery. Your role will also involve supervising and mentoring Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and Assistants in Nursing (AINs), delegating tasks within their scope of practice, and supporting quality patient care throughout the perioperative process. Timely and accurate documentation and communication with patients and the multidisciplinary team will be essential to ensure safe and effective care delivery.

Requirements
  • Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a health-related discipline, health management, or project management.
  • Demonstrated relevant industry experience.
  • Recent clinical experience in perioperative nursing.
