Greenkeeper Apprentice Opportunity

This exciting opportunity is for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Greenkeeper Apprentice. As a key member of the Course Maintenance Team, you will support the delivery of our golf course objectives and gain valuable skills in greenkeeping activities.

As a Greenkeeper Apprentice, you will complete a Certificate III in Sports Turf Management course at TAFE to develop practical knowledge and skills associated with the presentation of our city. This opportunity is open to school leavers, mature age applicants, second year apprentices and/or those who have already commenced their Certificate III in Sports Turf Management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Course Maintenance Team in delivering high-quality golf course maintenance services.
  • Gain practical skills in greenkeeping activities, including turf management, irrigation and equipment operation.
  • Develop knowledge and skills through on-the-job training and completion of a Certificate III in Sports Turf Management course at TAFE.

Benefits:

  • Temporary Full-time employment up to 4 years (or for the duration of the apprenticeship).
  • 38 hours per week.
  • Salary range from $601.70 per week (for a 16-year-old) up to $827.40 per week (for someone aged 18 and over).
  • Plus 12% superannuation.
  • On-the-job training.
  • Compulsory course costs are paid by Council.
  • Approved leave to attend TAFE.

Requirements:

  • You will need to complete a Pre-placement Medical examination.
  • You will need to obtain a General Construction Induction Card (White Card) prior to commencement.
