Responsibilities:
* Process all payables accurately and on time, in accordance with Costco policy and accounting standards.
* Resolve discrepant invoices and claims daily.
* Review and process credit notes, ensuring they are matched to short payments and processed accurately and in a timely manner.
* Resolve EDI invoice queries daily and support new vendor onboarding.
* Reconcile vendor statements to ensure all aged items are addressed and followed through to resolution.
* Assist with AP month-end GL accounts reconciliation and ensure all reconciliation items are supported by appropriate comments.
* Be flexible and adaptable to the evolving needs of the AP function.
* Assist in other areas of the business as required.
Requirements:
* 2+ years of Accounts Payable experience with exposure to vendor statement reconciliation.
* Strong MS Excel skills.
* Tertiary study in accounting preferred.
* Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts, and corporate procedures.
* Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in both verbal and written communication.
* Strong work ethic and a positive "can-do" attitude.
* Well-organized and strong time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple issues and schedule follow-ups with a sense of urgency.
* Ability to take responsibility for one's own performance, set goals and expectations, and report on progress.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
