Job Description:

As a Maintenance Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the upkeep and presentation of our properties. This involves working as part of a high-performing maintenance team to maintain our property's safety and integrity.

The ideal candidate will have experience in maintenance officer/handyman duties or hold an applicable trade qualification. Exposure to a hotel environment is highly desirable but not essential. You must possess excellent attention to detail, be able to work independently, and have full availability for a 7-day rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Fitting, testing, repairing and replacing fixtures and fittings, including lightbulbs, windows, doors, and handrails.
  • Performing basic plumbing maintenance and repairs on taps, basins and toilets.
  • Performing minor carpentry tasks, including hanging and replacing doors, and operating power tools.
  • Checking safety equipment such as fire hoses, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors and alarms.
  • Reporting requirements for significant repairs to management.
  • Cleaning gutters and common areas of rubbish and debris.
  • Applying and repairing paint and plaster.
  • Changing locks on doors and windows.
Requirements:
  • Experience in maintenance officer/handyman duties or hold an applicable trade qualification.
  • Exposure to a hotel environment is highly desirable.
  • A high level of attention to detail.
  • The ability to work independently.
  • Full availability for a 7-day rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
