About the Role

  • As the Technical Director, you will oversee a skilled team of engineers, ensuring alignment with business objectives and delivering high-impact solutions.
  • You will optimise team structures, enhance delivery processes, and promote technical excellence while spearheading innovation to maintain Hassett's competitive edge.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Leadership: Align the engineering function with organisational goals, translating business priorities into actionable technical roadmaps.
  2. Team Optimisation: Evaluate team structures, skill sets, and resources to ensure scalability and agility.
  3. Process Improvement: Redesign workflows and delivery frameworks to enhance efficiency, accelerate timelines, and ensure consistent high-quality outputs.
  4. Technical Excellence: Drive initiatives to improve code quality, reliability, and maintainability through best practices and cutting-edge tools.
  5. Innovation Leadership: Foster a culture of creativity and innovation, encouraging the team to deliver solutions that exceed expectations.
  6. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior leaders, ensuring technical strategies align with business objectives.

Estimated Salary: AU$180,000 - AU$220,000 per annum

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Over 10 years of engineering experience, including 5+ years in leadership roles such as Head of Engineering or Engineering Director.
  • Proven expertise in managing diverse, cross-functional teams and delivering innovative solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Industry experience in technology, IoT, or similar sectors is advantageous but not essential.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
