Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled professional to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about tax and wants to be part of a market-leading team.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on significant transactions in the Australian market, assisting clients with a wide variety of day-to-day tasks. These tasks include:

  • Tax Due Diligence - Assist in buy-side and sell-side due diligence processes.
  • Structuring - Advising on duty consequences of mergers, acquisitions, restructures, and divestments.
  • Post-Deal Implementation - Identifying duty obligations and assisting in preparing submissions for lodgements, applications, rulings, and objections with revenue authorities.
  • Advisory - Conduct tax research, provide advice on tax planning opportunities, and assist clients in managing tax risks in their businesses.
  • Updates - Stay up-to-date with developments in state taxes and other regulatory and tax updates.

In addition, you will build ongoing relationships with clients, particularly in the infrastructure, property, energy, and natural resources, financial services, and funds industries, providing highly valued advice and assistance with duty and land tax compliance, planning, and disputes resolution.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Assisting clients with tax due diligence and structuring.
  • Preparing submissions for lodgements, applications, rulings, and objections with revenue authorities.
  • Conducting tax research and providing advice on tax planning opportunities.
  • Managing tax risks in client businesses.
  • Staying up-to-date with developments in state taxes and other regulatory and tax updates.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in using relevant software and systems.
