About the RoleAs an Experienced Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for providing a quality service to our clients and working within a team environment alongside industry experts and trainees. You will work under the guidance and support of the Laboratory Manager and be required to undertake both field and laboratory testing across our full scope of accreditation for materials testing.
The position will involve preparing samples in the laboratory, testing on major infrastructure projects, and managing a laboratory. We are dedicated to fostering a culture of integrity, diligence, and high performance, as we understand the critical role that materials testing plays in ensuring successful construction outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Performing a range of hands-on tasks both in the field and laboratory, which involve sampling, preparing, and testing soil, aggregates, and concrete.
- Communicating directly with clients in a professional manner to coordinate testing, procedures, and reporting of results.
- Adhering to industry standards (AS1289, DTMR, AS1012 & AS1141) to ensure that all testing is conducted in accordance with established guidelines.
- Conducting regular quality assurance checks and calibrations, meticulously maintaining equipment to uphold accuracy and reliability.
- Ensuring accurate testing and efficient reporting.
- 2+ years' experience in laboratory and field testing in soils, aggregates and/or concrete to relevant standards (AS1289, AS1141, AS1012, DTMR).
- Current Australian Driver's licence.
- Sound level of computer skills (including Microsoft Office).
- Capable of undertaking physical work and lifting heavy loads for extended periods (repeatably).
- Commitment to quality and safety.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Current NDM Radiation licence (preferred but not necessary).
- Ability to pass drug and alcohol screening.
- Nuclear Gauge Licence - advantageous.
