Position Overview
Due to ongoing expansion, our Public Sector (Corporate) division presents an exciting opportunity for a Lawyer with 2-3 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) to become a part of our Canberra office. Collaborating closely with Partner Chris Davis and our broader team, you will engage with some of the most significant and complex procurement initiatives undertaken by the Commonwealth government.
Our team handles a diverse array of commercial, contracting, procurement, corporate, and probity issues within the government sector. The varied nature of our assignments ensures that even at a junior level, you will have the chance and expectation to interact directly with strategically vital Commonwealth departments and agencies, all while receiving support to enhance your skill set and local visibility.
We pride ourselves on a collegial atmosphere and are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Lawyer who values our culture.
Candidate Profile
To excel in this position, you will possess:
- A minimum of 2-3 years' experience as a Lawyer in the Government sector and/or a reputable private practice law firm. More seasoned lawyers are also welcome to apply.
- Experience and understanding of public sector procurement and contracting, ideally with exposure to Department of Defence procurement.
- The ability and readiness to work with a level of independence and autonomy that aligns with your experience. You will not be micromanaged and must be prepared to take ownership of your deliverables.
- A commitment to providing exceptional client service and fostering effective relationships.
- An existing Commonwealth security clearance or the capability to obtain one.
