Job Description

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and design teams;
  • Developing and maintaining detailed engineering designs, specifications, and documentation for mechanical and structural projects;
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including architects, contractors, and other professionals, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs within the overall project framework;
  • Reviewing and assessing the feasibility, mechanical integrity, and safety of designs and proposals;
  • Staying up to date with industry trends, technological advancements, and changes in regulations relevant to structural engineering and mechanical design.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field;
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a leading engineering firm;
  • Strong experience in structural mechanical design, analysis, and engineering services;
  • Proficiency with advanced engineering software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar;
  • A solid understanding of Australian engineering standards and regulations;
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills;
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing client relationships;
  • Strong project management skills, including budgeting and scheduling.
