Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented International Customs Clearance Specialist to join our professional team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your customs knowledge and classification skills, with a clear path toward mastering international customs regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate customs entries through thorough evaluation and compilation, ensuring compliance with Australian customs regulations and requirements.
- Coordinate customs clearance documentation with overseas agents, customers, and internal teams, streamlining communication and logistics.
- Monitor transshipment movements and update details in the CargoWise One (CW1) system, maintaining up-to-date records and facilitating efficient operations.
- Verify and process packing declarations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to customs regulations.
- Liaise with shipping lines, freight forwarders, customers, and internal staff to ensure seamless operations, resolving any issues promptly and efficiently.
- Execute pre-clearances within specified deadlines, meeting customer expectations and company standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To thrive in this role, you will need:
- 1-2 years of experience in a customs compiling or classification role, preferably in international trade and customs clearance.
- Completion of or enrollment in a Diploma of Customs Broking, demonstrating a strong foundation in customs regulations and requirements.
- Strong knowledge of international customs regulations and requirements, including compliance with Australian laws and regulations.
- A proactive, organized, and efficient work style, with excellent time management and prioritization skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- The ability to manage deadlines effectively, working under pressure to meet tight timelines and customer expectations.
- Experience with CargoWise (highly regarded), a leading customs clearance software, and familiarity with other industry-standard systems.
- Full Australian working rights, ensuring eligibility to work in Australia without restriction.
