Dental Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Dental Assistant to join our team in a fast-paced dental practice. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care while working alongside experienced dentists.

The ideal candidate will be a hard-working and friendly individual who is passionate about delivering high-quality healthcare services. Although experience is preferred, it is not essential. Our ideal candidate will be willing to learn and adapt to new situations while maintaining the highest standards of infection control and sterilization.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace
  • Assisting with patient care
  • Performing various administrative tasks

You will work closely with our dentists and other staff members to ensure seamless communication and delivery of excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain infection control and sterilization standards
  • Be versatile throughout the practice working chairside with all 4 of our dentists as well as on reception
  • Be responsible to upkeep and maintenance of equipment (senior role)
  • Maintain stock for the practice through liaising with external suppliers (senior role)
  • Be positive, reliable and passionate about delivering exceptional healthcare

Requirements:

  • Ideal 2 + years experience working in a general dental practice is preferred, but not essential
  • Certificate III in Dental Assisting is preferred, but not essential
  • Gentle and empathetic nature to communicate with care and understanding to patients and fellow staff
  • Ability to work effectively in a team orientated environment
  • An understanding of infection control processes and the ability to adhere to stringent guidelines
  • Someone that can utilise their amazing time management skills in a fast paced environment
