About the Role
Norton Rose Fulbright is a global legal practice that provides a full business law service to the world's pre-eminent corporations and financial institutions. We have over 57,000 lawyers based in more than 120 offices across Europe, the United States, Canada, Latin America, Asia, Australia, Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia.
Our Projects practice is one of the largest in the world, with over 1,000 project and project finance lawyers located across our offices. The Australian team is at the forefront of the global energy transition, acting for a range of global and national clients with a key focus on the development of infrastructure and energy projects.
This role at the forefront of the energy transition has created an opportunity for an associate or senior associate-level lawyer to work alongside Partner Kate Muller and our national Energy Transactions team. As an integral member of our team, you should expect to work on various projects across the energy, infrastructure, and government sectors across a range of local, regional, and cross-border projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Working on a number of energy projects for project sponsors, financiers, and large energy users nationally.
- Advising on and drafting a range of project documentation, including power purchase agreements, connection agreements, services and development agreements, delivery and joint venture agreements.
- Coordinating due diligence for greenfield and brownfield projects, financing, and acquisitions.
- Managing work streams on large domestic and international projects.
- Liaising with clients on consents, amendments, and project delivery issues as they arise.
- Assisting with business development and marketing initiatives.
- Delegating and supervising work and junior team members.
Requirements
- At least 2 years PQE gained within an energy/projects practice. Project finance experience is well regarded.
- Possess a growth mindset and are commercial, solution-focused, creative, and passionate about delivering the energy transition.
- Experience assisting on a range of matters across the infrastructure, energy, and government sector.
- Strong client liaison skills.
- Excellent analytical, drafting, and communication skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects and conflicting priorities simultaneously.
