Position Overview

The Fitter and Turner plays a crucial role within our Pact Packaging division, which focuses on sustainable packaging solutions throughout the entire product life cycle. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this position is integral to maintaining and optimizing manufacturing assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on maintenance support for all manufacturing equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Manage maintenance budgets and coordinate with contractors to enhance maintenance strategies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize equipment reliability and performance.
  • Conduct preventative and breakdown maintenance, ensuring minimal disruption to production operations.
  • Collaborate with production teams to manage downtime effectively and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Plan and oversee inventory management for spare parts and future repairs.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Mechanical trade qualifications with 5-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in hydraulic and pneumatic systems is highly desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to address mechanical issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage preventative maintenance schedules and emergency repairs.
