
Archaeological Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced archaeologist with a passion for finding heritage-positive solutions. Our team is looking for a professional who can coordinate, lead and support the delivery of Victorian Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Management Plans.
The successful candidate will have expertise in field survey, test excavations and reporting. They will also be responsible for supervising and conducting heritage and significance assessments, as well as managing project portfolios and preparing proposals for clients.
- Main Responsibilities:
- Coordinating and leading the delivery of Victorian Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Management Plans
- Supervising and conducting heritage and significance assessments
- Managing project portfolios and preparing proposals for clients
- Preparing complex reports and assessments, and providing leadership and mentoring to other archaeologists
This role will work collaboratively with a range of disciplines, including fostering relationships with Traditional Owners and Registered Aboriginal Parties.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Victorian Registered Heritage Advisor qualification
- An Honours or postgraduate degree in a relevant subject (e.g. heritage management, archaeology)
- Consulting experience with a focus on Aboriginal heritage in Victoria
- Experience leading Cultural Heritage Management Plans
- A strong understanding of State and Commonwealth heritage legislation and guidelines
- Excellent research and site analysis skills
- Excellent writing and reporting skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Excellent collaboration skills
