Job OpportunitySenior Aboriginal Clinician

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Aboriginal Clinician to join our Drug & Alcohol team and play a key role in enabling access to healthcare for Aboriginal people with substance dependence needs.

The Role

The Senior Aboriginal Clinician will be responsible for ensuring systems, services, and processes are established and maintained between Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network (Justice Health NSW) custodial and community drug and alcohol services and other key services, including non-government, primary care, social support, justice, and mental health services.

The successful applicant will have extensive experience collaborating with Aboriginal patients, families, and communities, and be able to engage hard-to-reach patient cohorts effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships between Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network (Justice Health NSW) custodial and community drug and alcohol services and other key services.
  • Collaborate with Aboriginal patients, families, and communities to ensure access to quality healthcare services.
  • Develop strategies to overcome barriers to care and engage hard-to-reach patient cohorts.
Selection Criteria
  • Relevant qualifications and significant experience in Aboriginal health and/or social work or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with Aboriginal patients, families, and communities.
  • Proven track record of working independently and as part of a team.
