Electrical Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Searson Buck in Burnie. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing electrical systems and automation solutions for automotive applications.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop electrical systems and automation solutions for automotive applications
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to define and document system functionality
- Manage component defects and ensure end-to-end system performance requirements are met
- Develop product design concepts and prepare design layouts
- Perform necessary calculations, analysis, and simulations to ensure system reliability and functionality
You will be a systems engineer with a strong history of integrating hardware, software, and communication systems to solve real-world problems. You will thrive on working through complex challenges and be driven to see solutions through to completion. You will enjoy collaborating with team members and customers, taking pride in the quality of your work.
Required Skills:
- Industry Experience: 3+ years of experience in automotive or heavy mobile equipment systems, preferably with mining system remote control or machine autonomy systems
- Technical Skills: Experience with Siemens PLC components, electrical system design, CAD 3D modelling, Ethernet network design, CAN bus design, and sensor integration
- Educational Background: Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with demonstrated expertise in complex engineering and manufacturability concepts
