Registered Nurse in Medical Imaging

The role of a Registered Nurse in Medical Imaging is to provide exceptional patient care and support during diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering high-quality nursing care to patients before, during, and after imaging procedures.
  • Preparing patients for various imaging exams including CT, MRI, and Ultrasound, including IV cannulation as required.
  • Assisting Radiologists and Imaging Technicians with interventional procedures such as biopsies, drainages, and angiography.
  • Monitoring patients during recovery from procedures and ensuring they receive appropriate care and support.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of patient care and treatment.
  • Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient use of resources.
  • Promoting a culture of safety and quality within the department, adhering to WHS policies and procedures at all times.
