As a Principal Engineer, you will provide core technology and domain expertise to inform technical strategy, design solutions for complex challenges, and take a security-first approach. You will also be responsible for mentoring and coaching other engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Decompose monoliths and design microservices at scale
  • Develop highly scalable APIs and event-driven applications
  • Operate microservices in the DevSecOps model
  • Address technical debt using a commercially focused and pragmatic approach
  • Identify, gain support, and ensure execution of technical direction and strategy for the business
  • Design and implement solutions to complex problems, including onboarding and migrating to new tooling
Requirements

This is a highly technical hands-on role, requiring a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. You will be a good match if you have previous experience in:

  • Developing 3-tier applications on-premises and on cloud
  • Microservices design and implementation
  • Scripting/programming languages (JavaScript, TypeScript, Go, Python)
  • CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Octopus)
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
  • Automated Quality Engineering and Testing
  • Solution and System Design
  • Application Security
  • Observability
  • Code quality control through peer programming, code review, and automated pipeline release management
