Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned cybersecurity professional to lead our threat hunting efforts and enhance the security posture of a high-stakes federal environment.

This role requires expertise in leveraging cyber threat intelligence and advanced analytics to proactively identify and mitigate threats on a large-scale global network.

The selected candidate will join a specialized cyber operations team in Canberra, working closely with other experts to develop and implement effective threat detection tools and countermeasures.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, experience with SIEM tools, and hands-on knowledge of the MITRE ATT&CK framework.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactively hunt for cyber threats across a large-scale global network
  • Leverage cyber threat intelligence in hunt activities and analysis
  • Create and manage threat detection tools, including dashboards and custom use cases
  • Analyse logs and events to identify patterns and develop countermeasures
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Cyber Security Incident Responder or Threat Hunter
  • Skilled in using SIEM tools such as Splunk or Sentinel for log analysis and threat detection
  • Hands-on experience with the MITRE ATT&CK framework in threat hunting or incident response
  • Proven ability to design and test use cases for malicious activity detection
