Embedded Linux Senior Software Development Expert

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a senior software engineer specializing in embedded Linux with Canonical, a leading company in Australia.
About Your Day: As part of this role, you will design and implement the best Ubuntu integration for the latest IoT and server-class hardware platforms and software stacks. You will work closely with partners to deliver a delightful and optimized Ubuntu experience on their platforms. Additionally, you will take a holistic approach to the Ubuntu experience on partner platforms, providing inputs on technical plans, testing strategies, quality metrics, and participating as a technical lead on complex customer engagements involving complete system architectures from cloud to edge.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Helping customers integrate their apps, SDKs, build device OS images, and optimize applications with Ubuntu Core, Desktop, and Server.
- Working with the most advanced operating systems and application technologies available in the enterprise world.
We Are Looking For: A highly motivated individual who loves technology and working with brilliant people. We require a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, STEM, or similar. Previous experience with Linux packaging (Debian, RPM, Yocto), working with open source communities and licenses, and experience with C and C++ programming languages are essential. Additionally, we need someone who can work independently in a globally distributed team through self-discipline and self-motivation.
Bonus Skills:
- Experience with graphics stacks.
- A good understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DHCP, HTTP/REST).
- A basic understanding of security best practices in IoT or server environments.
- Good communication skills, ideally public speaking experience.
- IoT/embedded experience from board and SoC, BMCs, bootloaders, and firmware to OS, through apps and services.
- Some experience with Docker/OCI containers/K8s.
