The primary role of an Engineering Surveyor is to conduct field surveys, gather accurate data, and ensure compliance with technical standards and project specifications.
This position requires a strong background in engineering surveying, excellent technical skills, and experience working in field-based environments.
About the Role- Perform field surveys based on project plans provided by senior staff, ensuring data is collected accurately and efficiently.
- Use advanced surveying equipment to capture precise data points for engineering applications such as infrastructure, construction, and land development.
- Conduct surveys following best practices to meet high standards of accuracy and consistency required for engineering projects.
- Collect and organise survey data in the field, ensuring it meets project specifications and quality standards.
- Perform initial data processing and validation as needed to prepare survey data for further analysis by senior staff or technical team.
- Ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) protocols on-site, adhering to safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments and complete SWIs, JSAs, and other safety documentation before commencing field activities.
- Promptly report any safety issues or incidents encountered in the field to senior staff, supporting follow-up investigations as needed.
- Set up, operate, and maintain engineering survey equipment, ensuring all instruments are calibrated and in good working condition.
- Conduct pre-survey equipment checks and calibrations to guarantee accuracy for each project.
- Coordinate with senior staff for any equipment repairs or replacements as required, ensuring minimal disruption to field operations.
- Communicate effectively with clients when on-site, addressing immediate questions and representing the company professionally.
- Coordinate with other survey team members to ensure project milestones are met, sharing updates on progress, site conditions, and any challenges encountered.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering surveying, excellent technical skills, and experience working in field-based environments. They must be able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain high standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
