Job Title: Skilled Construction Tradesperson

As a skilled construction tradesperson, you will be part of a leading general contracting and construction management firm with over 100 years of industry expertise. We handle a diverse range of projects, including industrial, commercial, healthcare, and institutional buildings.

We are seeking highly skilled and motivated individuals to join our team in Sydney, AU. Our trades include:

  • Concrete Carpenters
  • Carpenters
  • Finish Carpenters
  • Masons
  • Mason Operators and Mason Tenders
  • Crane Operators
  • Sheet Metal and Roofing
  • Welders
  • Ironworkers

Your responsibilities will include learning to read construction drawings, performing job duties along with the skilled trade, adhering to safety protocols, maintaining tools, assisting with minor repairs, and performing other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Understand the importance of consistency and proper handling techniques.
  2. Learn to read and understand construction drawings and specifications by identifying dimensions, notes, and details relevant to concrete work.
  3. Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols on the job site, including the proper use of PPE and safe tool operation.
  4. Maintain and organize tools and equipment, ensuring they are clean and in good working order.
  5. Assist in minor repairs under supervision.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned by a superintendent, supervisor, or crew leader.
Requirements:
  1. High school diploma or GED; alternatively, 2-3 years of relevant experience and/or training in your skill/trade.
  2. Ability to read and interpret safety rules and technical manuals.
  3. Basic math skills are essential.
  4. Capable of following instructions provided in written, verbal, or diagrammatic form with common sense understanding.
  5. OSHA 10-hour certification.
  6. Certification in operating rough terrain forklifts.
  7. Certification in operating aerial lifts.
Physical Requirements:
  1. Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy materials and equipment, typically up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  2. Stamina to work in physically demanding conditions, including standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing for extended periods.
  3. Capability to operate construction machinery and tools, including but not limited to power tools, scaffolding, and ladders.
  4. Dexterity to perform tasks requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, such as measuring, cutting, and assembling materials.
  5. Endurance to work in various environmental conditions, including heat, cold, and adverse weather, while adhering to safety protocols.
