Job Summary:

As a highly skilled automatic door technician, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of various door systems. Your primary responsibility will be to install, commission, and service automatic doors, roller doors, and gates.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assemble automatic door operators and related components with precision and care.
  • Analyse wiring diagrams and specifications to identify any potential issues.
  • Utilize test equipment to diagnose electrical faults and electronic problems on peripherals.
  • Install new wiring and replace faulty wiring to sensors, switches, and power supplies as needed.
  • Maintain and repair automatic doors, roller doors, and gates by replacing faulty parts and recommending improvements to optimize performance.
  • Provide expert advice to customers on the correct use of our operators and recommend upgrades and additional repairs to ensure their satisfaction.
  • Perform a range of tasks as required by the service manager to meet operational needs.
  • Be available for overtime work and scheduled after-hours work to support the business.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy vehicle, manage tools and stock efficiently, and adhere to provided lists to ensure compliance.

  • A current driver's licence
  • A National White Card
  • A Blue Card (WWC)
  • A connect/disconnect licence (preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Exceptional customer service
  • Pride in appearance and workmanship
  • Outstanding fault-finding abilities
  • Good mechanical aptitude with attention to detail
  • Availability for overtime and after-hours work
  • Netsuite and Next Service experience (an advantage)
