Family and Relationship Counsellor Position

This role involves providing comprehensive assessment, counseling, case management, group work, and therapeutic support to children and families.

The ideal candidate will conduct intake and assessment interviews, offer counseling, and deliver evidence-based therapy to individuals, couples, and families.

  • Provide in-depth child counseling, assessment, and case management interventions
  • Deliver lifespan-appropriate individual, child, family, and couples counseling, assessment, and case management interventions
  • Offer child consultations and feedback within the context of family dispute resolution services
  • Engage in client-centered therapeutic counseling and group work interventions
  • Manage caseloads in a sustainable and effective manner
  • Collaborate across our service lines
  • Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal understanding and communication skills

Key requirements include:

  • A client-focused practitioner with demonstrated experience in fee-for-service delivery
  • A tertiary-qualified Practitioner with Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or Family Therapy qualifications and postgraduate studies, with a minimum of 2 years' experience
  • Registration with AHPRA or AASW or an equivalent Professional association
  • Proficiency in contemporary methods of counseling and family therapy

This position requires a high level of ethical standards and well-developed interpersonal communication skills. The ability to promote our profile across the community through providing professional, caring service delivery is essential.

Previous experience working in a human services environment would be highly regarded.
