Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Planning Manager to join our team at Target. As a key member of our planning team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive sales and profitability across our apparel business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning team to develop and implement range architecture and product assortment strategies to drive transactions and profitability.
  • Own and lead financial performance to agreed KPIs across the department, and support the business to deliver financials and strategy.
  • Manage inventory and demand planning to optimize inventory flow and ensure stock-to-sales balance by region and store.
  • Develop pre-season strategy and accurate financial plans, and develop customer-focused product and store assortments, line plans, and inventory flow.
  • Manage markdown plans and OTB controls, and lead the planning team to ensure critical path and launch dates are met.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of planning experience in a specialty retail environment, with a tertiary qualification in Finance, Operations, or Business.
  • Good working experience in leading a small to medium-sized team, and ability to plan, implement, and lead a merchandise strategy.
  • Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally to achieve objectives, and ability to trade in a business that is reacting quickly to market pressures.
