Job Title: Teacher Assistant for Inclusive Education

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher Assistant to join our team at St Thomas More Catholic Primary School. As a Teacher Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our students with special needs and contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with special needs, promoting their academic and social development.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement inclusive lesson plans and activities.
  • Assist with classroom management, including supervising students during lessons and breaks.
  • Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents to ensure a smooth and supportive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Certificate III in Education Support or related field.
  • Desirable: Certificate IV in Education Support or related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • High degree of professionalism and confidentiality.

Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Display a committed and enthusiastic approach to working with children.
  • Work positively with teacher direction, as part of a dedicated, collaborative and enthusiastic team.
  • Possess good time management skills.
  • Exhibit a friendly, open and approachable manner and be supportive of the Catholic Ethos in the performance of their duties.
