Senior Legal Counsel Opportunity

This is a high-impact role for an experienced lawyer ready to provide legal guidance across the full spectrum of banking and corporate operations.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving the organisation's compliance, governance and risk posture while enabling strategic and operational goals.

  • Provide clear, commercially focused legal advice across banking, corporate, and financial services matters.
  • Lead contract negotiation and management, including SLAs, supplier arrangements, finance agreements and corporate initiatives.
  • Navigate a complex regulatory landscape and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Support board and governance functions, including advice on director duties, conflicts of interest and statutory reporting.

Requirements & Experience:

  • Admitted solicitor in NSW with at least 7–10 years' post-qualification experience in financial services, banking or corporate law.
  • Expertise in consumer and retail banking law, with an ability to manage a broad portfolio of legal issues (including employment, IP/IT procurement and governance).
  • Strong knowledge of financial services laws and regulations, including ASIC and APRA frameworks.

Key Skills:

  • Commercially minded approach to legal problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with customer-owned institutions will be well regarded.
  • Ability to influence at executive and board level.
