Optical Gyroscope Systems Engineer

We are seeking an exceptional Optical Gyroscope Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering group, you will be responsible for advancing our Fiber Optic Gyroscope (FOG) technology by designing, developing, testing, and manufacturing scale-up of cutting-edge FOG-based navigation systems.

This pivotal role involves leading the design and development of FOG and related systems for outstanding performance, reliability, and manufacturability. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless product development and integration.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in electro-optical systems design and integration, as well as in-depth knowledge of photonics, including light sources, optical fibers, couplers, modulators, and detectors relevant to FOGs. Additionally, they should have demonstrable experience with manufacturing processes for optical or precision electro-mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of FOG and related systems.
  • Develop and refine manufacturing processes for FOGs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Analyse test data, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in FOG technology, photonics, and relevant manufacturing techniques.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physics, Optics, Photonics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in the field of Fiber Optic Gyroscopes.
  • Theoretical and practical understanding of FOG physics, including the Sagnac effect and associated phenomena.
  • In-depth knowledge of photonics, including light sources, optical fibers, couplers, modulators, and detectors relevant to FOGs.
  • Solid background in electro-optical systems design and integration.
  • Demonstrable experience with manufacturing processes for optical or precision electro-mechanical systems.
