Tropical Fruit Specialist

About the Role
As a key member of our client's team, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing growing techniques and productivity of their tropical fruit farms. Located in North Queensland, you will have the opportunity to work in a stunning region and contribute to the company's sustained success.
Your Responsibilities
Reporting to the Group Agronomy Manager, you will assist in developing agronomic recommendations around irrigation, pruning, farm development, pollination, nutrition, harvest, and pest & disease management. You will conduct crop inspections, including pest & disease monitoring, soil moisture, plant nutrition, sampling of plant tissue and soil, etc. Additionally, you will assist with both internal and external research and development trials, keeping abreast of the latest research, innovations and trends in tropical fruit production.
About You
We are looking for an individual who is willing to further develop their agronomic skills and innovate and diversify when problem solving. You will possess the ability to work autonomously and in a team environment, demonstrating a strong work ethic, can do attitude and accountability. To be considered for the role, it is essential that you can address the following:
- Demonstrated Agronomy skills and experience
- Strong attention to detail for accurate reporting
- Ability to work in challenging tropical environments - outdoors
- Effective communication skills for working with a diverse workforce
- Advanced analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to operate basic farm machinery and equipment
- Commitment to personal safety and adherence to safety guidelines and procedures
- Valid driver's license
